Imagine a Trip of a Lifetime
EDventure is an immersive international learning experience for educators, creatives, and changemakers who believe in travel with heart and purpose.
We combine curated travel experiences with intentional community, cultural exchange, and hands-on service in local schools. It’s part learning, part adventure and 100% unforgettable.
What to Expect
2 weeks in Cape Town, 4 Days working with kiddos, countless memories.
June 27 - July 11, 2026
Exploration
See Cape Town’s can’t-miss sites including the Cape Peninsula, a safari day, Table Mountain, and more with our local partner, Curiocity, who makes every moment memorable. And then go deeper with experiences like the Black Route walking tour and wine tastings at Black-owned farms.
Connection
You’ll live and learn alongside a small cohort of passionate, values-aligned humans. Don’t know anyone yet? You will soon. EDventure is where strangers become friends and friends become educator besties.
Serving & Learning
In partnership with Folklore Festival and Black on Black Education, our Curious Kiddos Camp brings Grade 6 & 9 learners together for a joyful, creative learning experience. We focus on these grades because they are transitional years when kids begin taking on more responsibility and leadership in school. Through activities rooted in equity, creative expression, and youth voice, we learn just as much as we teach.
The Most Fun You’ve Ever Had!
This trip is just as much about joy. We gather for sunset dinners, drumming circles, shisanyama (cookouts), and nights out dancing. Because joy is not a break from the work, it’s part of the work. We have a gooooood time - literally the time of our lives :)
Trip Itinerary
-
We will meet you when you arrive at Cape Town International Airport to take you to Curiocity - your home base for the next two weeks. Check-in, get comfortable, and then meet us downstairs for a delicious traditional South African stew and an onboarding. We will use this time to get to know one another and share everything you need to know in order to make this a trip of a lifetime. Bonus: Don’t forget to pack your dancing shoes because (if you are up to it), we are going out on the town.
-
Put your walking shoes on because we are headed to see the city. We will take an exciting journey through the vibrant history and diverse culture of Cape Town! The tour ventures off the beaten path, offering a unique perspective not found in typical guidebooks. Discover hidden gems and uncover the rich stories of the black community, often overshadowed by the city’s stunning scenery. We will explore the Slave Route and delve into the fascinating encounters between European settlers and the indigenous San and Khoi tribes.
-
It’s Monday morning and you know what that means - time to go to Camp! Prepare yourself for a fun filled day inspiring the minds of youth. We have everything already set up for you - materials, programming, and activities. All you have to do is show up and we will take it from there. We will end the day with a family day and a recap.
-
It’s camp day two and we are in the flow of things. Today, we will say goodbye to our 9th graders. But don’t worry, we still have next week to hang with the littles.
-
This day is all yours. Make the most of it! Check out the activity recommendations to plan your free day. There is SO much to do in the city. Feel free to reach out to the Curiocity team if you have questions or would like any assistance.

-
Bring your binoculars - we are on the hunt for wildlife. Our safari experiences are more than just tours; they’re personal journeys into the heart of nature. After your game drive you’ll have a chance to enjoy the resort by booking a spa treatment, having a drink, or just chilling by the pool.
-

A shisanyama, meaning "burn meat" in Zulu, is a South African informal gathering, often in townships, where people come together to braai (barbecue) meat, typically near a butchery. It's a social event centered around grilled meat, loud music, and drinks. Rands is one of the most popular shisanyama in Cape Town. It’s like the best day party you ever want to attend - just don’t forget you have school in the morning ;)
-
Last week, we had the high schoolers. Now it’s time for the littles. We will run the same program for the grade 9 group as we did for the grade 6 group - so this will be like a walk in the park.
-
It is the final day of camp and these goodbyes are the hardest. We will issue the kiddos their certificates and head back to Curiocity for a mini-celebration.
-
This is your last free day. Make the most of it! Check out the activity recommendations. There is SO much to do in the city. Feel free to reach out if you have questions or would like any assistance.
-
We will visit 3-4 wine Black owned farms outside of Cape Town. We will break midday to enjoy a 5-star meal at a Black-owned restaurant. You will have the opportunity to purchase your favorite wines to be shipped home.
-
Cultural Connection is a half day experience curated by the Curiocity team. The day is designed to close your trip to Cape Town off with moments to remind you of the people, their history, and way of life.
-
This is the sad day when we say our goodbyes. We will organize your transfer to the airport so that you arrive 2.5 hours before your flight.
