Every year on July 18, the world celebrates Nelson Mandela International Day - a global call to action to honor Madiba’s life through service to others. Mandela believed that each person has the power to make a difference, and Mandela Day encourages us to spend at least 67 minutes doing something to uplift our communities representing the 67 years he dedicated to fighting for social justice.

• Meeting time: Meet at reception at 9:00 AM to walk together to the soup stand setup in honor of Nelson Mandela International Day. You’ll take part in preparing and serving warm meals to those in need – a meaningful way to give back and honor Madiba’s legacy.

• The rest of the day is FREE to grab your last few souvenirs and pack for your journey home.

Whether you’re a wine enthusiast or just curious, our tour offers an unforgettable exploration of South Africa’s top vineyards. Put your walking shoes on because we are headed to see the city.

This is not just any walking tour - it is an opportunity to get to know your surroundings while meeting and supporting local Black makers. You’ll have the opportunity to talk to makers about their products, the materials they use, and how they make art, clothing, accessories, and home goods that are expressions their personalities and culture.

Pro tip: As soon as they hear your American accent, they will charge you ‘American’ prices. Don’t be afraid to negotiate. But also make sure to be fair - this is their livelihood.

• Breakfast: 7:30 AM – 9:30 AM

• Meeting time: Meet at reception at 9:45 AM. Your guide, Yanga, will meet you and transport you to the Castle of Good Hope, where your walking tour begins.

• ACTION ITEM: Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes.

• Return time: Return to the hotel by 2:30 PM. The rest of the day is free.

We will meet you when you arrive in at Cape Town International Airport to take you to Curiocity - your home base for the next two weeks.

Check-in, get comfortable, and then meet us downstairs for a delicious stew and an onboarding. We will use this time to get to know one another and share everything you need to know in order to make this a trip of a lifetime.
